Sea baits

Product description

The "Arenicola marina" or lugworm is a marine annelid that has three distinct parts: the anterior, posterior and central. The first two have segments without silk or gills. The anterior part is wider. The central part contains reddish, bushy gills.

It is packaged in a plastic box containing 5 - 6 pieces on a substrate of coarse sea sand.

Main characteristics

We obtain them from our Galician coasts. They live in shallow U-shaped galleries with an entrance hole and an exit hole on the surface. The buccal cavity retains the organic particles and the sand is thrown out through the anal extremity, forming characteristic cords on the beaches. It is a medium-strength bait but very attractive at long distances due to its ability to quickly flood the area with the liquid it secretes, which is highly rich in iodine.

It is used in shore, boat or surf casting fishing.

Availability
