Main characteristics

They live on the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean, both in Europe and North Africa. They also live on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. Our collection takes place in the Atlantic of the Iberian Peninsula.

This species lives buried and colonises sandy bottoms, with a preference for open beaches. They are able to bury themselves quickly at great depths. They remain buried, creating siphons out of the sand and sucking and expelling the water they filter.

Very popular for surf casting.

All worms can have a loss of 40 % of their original weight, according to species.
