River baits

Product description

The Gozzer, like the asticot, is derived from the Calliphora vomitoria. This larva is in a larger stage of development than the waxworm so its size is approximately 2 cm. It belongs to the family of the brachyuran diptera. As its name suggests, it is ruby.

It is packaged in two formats: a 125 cc plastic box on a special bed of natural wood shavings, or a 1 litre plastic bag with a bed of natural wood shavings.

Main characteristics

This species is in the larval phase. It uses protein enzymes and performs a crushing action with its mouthparts in order to penetrate the bodies of the organisms on which it feeds.

This bait is not able to regulate its temperature, so it is highly dependent on the ambient temperature for its development.

It is suitable for coup fishing and very effective for casts because of its higher density.

Available all year round, but may be subject to shortages due to inclement weather.
All worms can have a loss of 40 % of their original weight, according to species.

Recommended fish

This bait is suitable for all white fish. We must consider the appropriate legislation according to the species or seasonal period.

Tips for good conservation

Constant conservation not exceeding 0 ºC, as higher temperatures will accelerate its transformation into caster.
