COMMON EARTHWORM / LOB WORM

LOMBRIZ CANADIENSE

Product description

The common earthworm or Lumbricus terrestres, also known as Grandaddy Earthworm, is an annelid with a cylindrical, segmented body. Its upper part is brown with reddish tinges and its lower part is yellow with a protruding orange clitellum.

Its size ranges form 10 to 25 cm and its surface is always wet to facilitate skin respiration.

It is packaged in a plastic box on a natural soil base.

Main characteristics

This species lives in grasslands, forests and marshlands. It also shows a special interest in clay soils. The animal digs galleries and feeds on the nutrients and organic matter that the soil provides it with by gulping it down and then expelling it. This matter is deposited in tunnels that offer a valuable aid to agriculture as fertiliser.

It is highly recommended for coup fishing. A good worm makes a difference in turbid or high water.

Availability

Available all year round, but may be subject to shortages due to inclement weather.
